Getting it Right for Babies

About the Programme/Course:

This training supports practitioners to explore what we know about babies and what babies need to thrive in their setting and how experiences help to shape a baby's brain. There is an element of practical activity as we explore resources that support a baby's learning and development.

  • To identify and discuss the developmental needs of babies
  • To create an appropriate environment that meets the needs of babies
  • To explore the importance of the prime areas of learning and the characteristics of effective learning
  • To explore strategies to self-evaluate the quality of provision for babies

Impact:

Practitioners will have the knowledge, understanding and skills to effectively implement a key person approach, create an environment that meets the needs of babies, and are able to provide for a baby's prime areas of learning and development underpinned by the characteristics of effective learning.

Target Audience:

Practitioners who work in the baby room.

Duration:

  • Option A: One day course
  • Option B: One day course plus a follow-up visit
  • Option C: Can be delivered as an in house Package for settings or collaborations

Any other details:

Delegates must bring their own copies of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, Development Matters and Early Years Outcomes Document.
