Makaton Workshop Level One (two sessions)

Event code EYC 22/176
Event description The Makaton Workshop Level 1 online course provides a practical introduction to Makaton for workers, parents and carers who need to use Makaton in everyday situations, at home and/or at work. You will learn the signs and symbols for Stages 1 & 2 of the Core Vocabulary, plus half of the Additional Vocabulary. The course is very practical and interactive.
Please keep your attendance certificate, as you will need it if you wish to attend the Level 2 Workshop.

The training is delivered by a fully qualified Makaton tutor using Zoom. There are 2 sessions of a maximum of four hours each, delivered over two separate days.

Please note that the maximum number of delegates for this course is 11.

Precourse information:
This section includes important information - please read carefully:

• There is an additional charge of £28.00 per participant for this training as set out below:

- Each participant MUST purchase a Makaton Workshop Level 1 manual at £18.00 each. This is a requirement of the Makaton Charity. The manual contains all the signs and symbols learnt on the course, the powerpoint slides and a wealth of supporting information.
- Each participant will need to supply a home address, or other address, to which the manual is to be sent prior to the training. Following the training, your certificate of attendance will be signed by your tutor and posted to the same address. The cost of postage, packing and admin for the manual and certificate is £10 inclusive.
- In order to attend this training you will need access to a stable internet connection and a full size laptop, iPad or similar. The training course is not suitable to be delivered or attended on a mobile phone. You will need to see the tutor and other participants clearly, and they will need to see you, from at least the top of the head to waist height.

This session will run as an interactive Zoom session. Delegates will be sent the link no later than 24 hours before the start date. Please ensure you are able to access Zoom at least 1 hour prior to the session. Please note that these are not recorded and therefore not available to watch at a later date and delegates need to attend as a live session.
