Event description | This online course for childminders will give you the skills and knowledge needed to extend your inclusive practice, and identify children's needs quickly, so they receive any extra support they may need, to ensure they progress well in their learning. All registered childminders need to be aware of the key principles of inclusive SEND practice, as set out in the SEND code of practice (2015), the Statutory Framework for the EYFS (September 2021) and the Equality Act (2010). You will learn how to build on your partnership with parents. Understand Kent SEND process through a graduated approach, effective information sharing and working with other professionals. The course contains learning resource materials that can be downloaded in advance of the training, they will be used in conjunction with topics being discussed. The Early Years Best Practice Guidance document will be used during the training. This course is funded by Kent County Council for Kent registered childminders. This session will run as an interactive Zoom session. Confirmed delegates will be e-mailed the link 24 hours prior to the session. Please ensure you are able to access Zoom at least 1 hour prior to the session. Please note that these are not recorded and therefore not available to watch at a later date and delegates need to attend as a live session. Training objectives | • To enable childminders to gain an up-to-date grounding of Kent SEND processes, and underpinning knowledge required to support children and families. • To assist childminders in developing key skills that can enhance their work with children and families. • Develop confidence and knowledge about effective SEND provision and best practice, to ensure that all children promptly receive any extra help they need, so they can progress well in their learning. |
