Early Years Designated Safeguarding Lead Training (EYDSL) (two sessions)

Event code EYC 21/121
Event description This course is the first level training for staff in Early Years settings in Kent who are new to the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). Existing DSLs can access the interim Early Years DSL Refresher eLearning.

This CPD certificated course will help delegates meet their statutory responsibilities including those identified in the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’ (EYFS) and ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’.
This course will assist delegates in understanding the local Kent Integrated Front Door process and understanding the role of the DSL. The course uses a variety of scenarios and discussions to help delegates put learning into practice and is delivered by experienced trainers who have a sound knowledge of social work and early years practice.

The course will be delivered over two half day sessions via Zoom (09:30-13:00). Where possible we would encourage delegates to book the training course delivered by their area safeguarding advisor and assistant to help develop local working relationships.

Please note:
• Please ensure you can access Zoom and you have audio/camera before the session begins.
• Please ensure you can attend both parts of the course in full. If you miss a session, arrive late, or leave early you may not receive a certificate, but will still be charged.
• All bookings made by a member of Kent County Council must provide a valid Purchase Order or your booking will be cancelled.
Training objectives • To enable delegates to understand key safeguarding responsibilities and requirements in early years settings and help participants meet the safeguarding and welfare requirements of the EYFS
