Early Years Basic Child Protection Awareness

Event description

The course provides essential child protection training for staff working with children in early years settings in line with requirements outlined in national and local guidance. The course is delivered by experienced trainers who have a sound knowledge of social work and early years practice.

The course will be delivered in a 2-hour session via Zoom and will use a variety of scenarios and discussions to help delegates put learning into practice.

Please note:
• Supply cover will NOT be paid.
• Please ensure you have a copy of your course confirmation email.
• Please ensure you can access Zoom and you have audio/camera before the session begins.
• Please ensure you can stay for the duration of the course. If you arrive more than 15-minutes late or leave early you will not receive a certificate, but you will still be charged.
• All bookings made by a member of Kent County Council must provide a valid Purchase Order or your booking will be cancelled.

Training objectives

• To equip participants with a working knowledge of how to recognise and respond to child protection concerns, including possible signs and symptoms of child abuse and the complexity of its presentation.
• To know how to respond both within the setting and to other agencies i.e. Education Safeguarding Advisors, Social Services and Police
• To consider safe practice within the workplace to keep both adults and children safe.
